There is a lot of kindness and a lot of us who arent racist! sadly the media fuels the racism by giving too much mileage to the minority who are racist! There is only one minority in Sri Lanka in my opinion and those are extremists who want to alienate other religions and ethnicities. They are not buddhists, they think they are but they are not! The rest of us apologize on their behalf!

The section on the Easter Sunday attack focuses on failures of intelligence and inaction by those in authority and notes the consequent attempts to blame a whole community. While these are valid criticisms it is also true that the perpetrators were driven by an interpretation of the religion also shared by the writer of this piece that led to, underpinned and justified their actions in their own minds. A more balanced piece would also have tackled that reality and explored the causes of that.

Injustice creates a madness in both the oppressor/tyrant and the oppressed/victims. The advice is do not be in either group and seek to leave the place of oppression if possible. The West desires skilled nationals and SL skilled professionals are eagerly sought after.
